I experience different tea brewing results with the same tea at work and home?
My tap water is soft and the water at work comes in one of those huge typical work environment jugs dispensed either cold or hot.
At home my tea will be darker and have more flavor, at work my tea will be lighter and have an acceptable amount of flavor.
What gives?

I think that the water at your work is not boiling hot, like it would be at home, the hotter it is the darker it will get, and so if it isnt dark enough it wont have that same flavor, it will taste like water mixed with tea.
At home the tea stays fresh WAY longer because you probably keep it in its container, that would be why the flavour is stronger. At work, these bags, or leaves, often are left out. The lighter flavour is because your tea is actually passed its prime. So if you want to have the same ‘acceptable’ tea at home, try and recreate the circumstances, like leaving it out a little longer.
