It depends on how you plan to ice the tea. There are three basic concepts:

1. Make hot, place in a container, and leave in the refrigerator for several hours. Since you're not watering down the tea any, you can use regular proportions.

2. Make hot, then pour over ice. I double the proportions since after adding enough ice to take hot tea down to the freezing point I have double the liquid in my glass or more.

3. Cold brew - place the leaves in a container and leave in the fridge for 2-6 hours. I tend to forget about the leaves with this method and end up with very strong tea, so I'm not sure about the proportions. Some people say double, some people say normal.

If I make a large jug of iced tea, I put 4-6 tea bags in hot water. So if you were using loose tea, fill up the tea ball or about 3 tbsp of loose tea in a cheesecloth and tie with kitchen string. I place my jug of iced tea on a window ledge and leave it sit there for up to 12 hours, the sun helps with the seeping of the tea. Add sugar to taste or use Spenda sweetner, 1/4 cup of lemon juice and a few lemon slices

The same as hot, just chill afterwards. And if you don't mind my asking....how do you keep the loose tea from getting in the tea and drinking it? I mean do you use a coffee pot and filter?

Explain please, I'll wait- I make iced tea all the time, you might have a better idea...
