How can I MAKE INDIAN TEA without milk? HOW ARE YOU VEGETARIANS MAKING YOUR INDIAN TEA?

I use to be addicted to making Indian tea until I STOPPED DRINKING MILK. How does one enjoy the taste of Indian tea without milk and can it even be prepared by using a NON-DAIRY substitute?

I have never heated or cooked my lactose free product and I don’t know what reaction it will have. I DON’T WANT TO WASTE it on something that won’t work.

  1. Wishful Spirit says:

Silk brand soy milk doesn’t get flaky in tea or coffee, and I really like it in India-style chai.

  2. MH says:

try soy milk- (a brand is called Silk)its made from soy beans- all my vegetarian/vegan friends love it and it comes in so many varieties- you can do all the things to it that you can do with regular milk (i.e.- heat it up, squirt it out your nose)

  3. Max says:

try soymilk or rice milk. really, any milk could work. cow milk is just from a cow and has lactose. now much difference. soy milk probably will have the least different reaction to heat. i cook with it and it is fine. plain unsweetened soymilk from Silk brand will probably work the best.

    btw love the name ^^

  4. Coop 366 says:

If you make it without milk then it is not Indian Tea but if you want to try. You might use soy milk that is vegetarian milk.

  5. Manish Agrawal says:

You can make one Indian Tea which is called as Black Tea which doesn’t need milk. To make this you have to heat water, put little Tea Powder, sugar and Ginger. Heat it for sometime then filter it. Take it hot it will be good. It also help in reducing cold. For more taste you can add Black Pepper.
