Are tea bags reusable after you dip it into the cup of water?

If they are reusable, will the chemicals still be the same. What I mean by that is let’s say green tea. The first time use of the bag will give you plenty of "good herbal chemicals" so will reusing the bag decrease those effects?

  1. The Question Asker says:

yes you can reuse it. caffeine will be less tea will be weaker. saves money.

  2. jessiex3 says:

probobly but i think that’s just being sort of cheap.
    it’s worth a try though :]

  3. stephaopi_1999 says:

Yes, the water will dilute the tea after the first use, but if you leave the bag in to steep longer, it can be used again easily.

  4. miz churie says:

yup. use clothes-pegs. but its scummy

  5. railroad dave says:

a couple of old ones make a great tea for soaking your feet to cure athletes foot (tinia pedis) . the tannins kill fungus .

  6. margarita says:

Yes, you can reuse them. The more you reuse the tea bag, the less caffeine in the tea. Also, the tea will be weaker. Some people will even discard the first cup of tea to avoid the caffeine.

  7. ktrb says:

It depends on the type of tea. Some black teas are robust enough to handle up to two or three infusions, but more delicate teas like green or white tea usually won’t stand up to more than one infusion. You’ll still get some benefit, but not as much.

  8. littlemsdrama says:

it does work, but It’ll just be weaker… chemicals? you mean antioxidants?

it also depends on how long you let it steep the first time…the longer you steep the weaker the tea bag will be for the next use.

  9. michaella says:

green tea, the longer it stays in the water the more it infuses, gets stronger in taste

same with other teas, so if you like mild dont leave it in for too long, after this though it is not reusable , it will be bland and should be thrown out…..
