Mostly talking about black teas here, tea bags and loose.
Thanks!
Yah, I recognize how lame this question is but I’ve never been a tea drinker. I just bought some herbal tea from an herbalist through the internet and it came in individual tea bags. It says to make a pot of hot tea with it. I don’t own a tea pot. Am I correct that I would boil water in a pot, say maybe a 2 quart pot, and then add the tea bag and let it set for 5 minutes? Do I need to squeeze the tea out of the bag? It also says the one tea bag can be used to make up to 3 pots of tea. Do I let the bag dry out then stick it in a Ziplock?
I had received some loose-leaf green tea from a friend who recently visited China and was wondering if it is normal to see white foam on top of my brewed tea.
Could there be pesticide residues on my tea? I try to drink organic tea as much as possible, but don’t want to throw away the tea which was a gift.
All honest answers appreciated. Thanks!
I don’t keep tea bags handy because loose tea makes a much better hot tea. I need to know the portions to make iced tea.
Mr pants, for hot tea I brew it in a clay teapot. First i put 1 teaspoon of tea per cup in the preheated pot. Then add the appropriate amount of boiling water. Allow it to steep for about 4 minutes. Pour through a tea strainer into your cup and add honey and lemon if you wish.
I got a tea kettle for Christmas (I love coffee but need a break from it, so I am branching off). Problem is, I don’t know what tea to buy, where to buy it, or how to brew it properly. Any advice for a beginning tea drinker?
