I love my recipe for homemade instant chai mix! The only problem is that it calls for instant unsweetened tea. Being a loose leaf tea drinker I just can’t get used to drinking tea from a jar. Is there a way to grind black tea leaves fine enough to make a black tea version of matcha?
So I’d like to drink more tea. The problem is that I’d have to pour more and more boiling water for each tea bag re-use (I re-use them 2-3 times since plenty of tea comes out after each use) and I’d have to drink a tremendous amount of water (and having to get that water out gets annoying). So can’t I just eat the tea leaves raw to get the same phytochemicals and caffeine in tea?
I was wondering if i have to boil water, add tea, then put it in the frig in order to make it cold. Or could i just use cold water in the beginning? Also, does it provide the same nutrients when its made with just cold water?
I just want plain flavored iced tea and a brand I can find at a grocery store. Thanks.
As some of you may know, you can get imported tea such as 100% pure Ceylon (Al Wazah) from pretty much any halal meat market. A few of us lazy Americans are used to the disposable tea bags; often not realizing we are really only consuming "shake" & not full leaves; therefore lacking essential vitamins & minerals. The advertisements would like us to believe otherwise. Anyhow, my question is: what type of tea pot is best for brewing loose tea?
